One blazer at a time.

6 years ago I made a choice. For one year I wasn’t going to buy any ‘new’ clothing. If I wanted to shop, it had to be second hand.

I needed to break my cycle of following trends (and hating how I felt in them!), buying things for a single occasion (because I thought had nothing to wear! ), and thinking that donating what I wasn’t wearing was enough.

As that year went on my closet became more and more interesting, my style became more my own and I had never felt better in my clothes.

While I did come to realize I needed to add a few new things to my closet to help tie things together, I love that now my closet is 90% second hand and full of fabulous pieces I want to wear. As my style evolves and changes I look to other options like selling or swapping my clothing before dontating. If I am donating I look at the organizations support of my local community before passing it their way.

Being in the business has definitely helped me in this journey as I am surrounded by fabulous vintage all the time, whether it's while sourcing for Tipsy Palm or from the other incredible resellers in my community.

There are many ways to have a more sustainable wardrobe, we just need to listen, learn, support community and make small changes as we go.

Some great resources to learn more about fashions impact on our world linked below. I encourage you to read a little or a lot, make a choice to make a change,no matter how small, and always, if possible, support local. Even the smallest things can and will make an impact on the world around you.

For the love of Vintage 💕
