For the Love of Costume Design - Edith Head

For the Love of Costume Design 👗

Recently I watched White Christmas for the first time and not only fell in love with the movie but also the costume design. I needed to know who was behind the incredible pieces worn by Vera Ellen and Rosemary Clooney.
Let me introduce Edith Head, an eight Academy Award winner for Best Costume Design, making her the most awarded woman in the Academy's history and she is still considered to be one of the greatest and most influential costume designers in film history.

Edith worked on over 400 incredible films and was known for many pieces worn by fashion icons Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly among many more. She was a favourite designer of Alfred Hitchcocks and many filmmakers that understood the connection between what the actors wore and telling their story.

If you want to see more of Ediths incredible work I suggest checking out 'Roman Holiday', 'White Christmas' and 'To Catch a Thief' to get started! Also can you guess which character in 'The Incredibles' is based on this amazing designer?
